At the home of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Maestro Jacek Kaspszyk will perform Beethoven\u2019s \u201cMissa solemnis\u201d. Wroc\u0142aw Baroque Orchestra under the baton of Jaros\u0142aw Thiel, with top soloists such as Julia Lezhneva (soprano), Terry Wey (countertenor), Joshua Ellicott (tenor), Sascha Emanuel Kramer (tenor), Sebastian Noack (bass), and Wolf Matthias Friedrich (bass), will present Bach\u2019s \u201cSt John Passion\u201d in the concert hall of the National Forum of Music in Wroc\u0142aw.<\/p>\n<p>Maestro Jerzy Maksymiuk and Sinfonia Varsovia will present an all-Beethoven repertoire. Symphony concerts will be performed by Polish ensembles such as the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw conducted by Micha\u0142 Klauza (works by Penderecki and Olivier Messiaen), Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra under Dawid Runtz (works by Beethoven and Sibelius, Haydn\u2019s \u201cTrumpet Concerto in E flat major\u201d with cadenzas by K. Penderecki performed by G\u00e1bor Boldoczki), as well as Sinfonietta Cracovia led by Jurek Dyba\u0142 (works by Penderecki, Takemitsu and Barber). Continuing the series of Unknown Operas, \u0141ukasz Borowicz will present two one-act works \u2013 Paul Hindemith\u2019s \u201cSancta Susanna\u201d and Gustav Holst\u2019s \u201cSavitri\u201d. The Silesian String Quartet\u2019s chamber concert featuring the complete string quartets by Krzysztof Penderecki and Schumann\u2019s \u201cPiano Quintet in E flat major\u201d with pianist Aleksandra \u015awigut, promises to be intriguing. The festival will carry on promoting the youngest generation of performers: piano recitals will be given by \u0141ukasz Krupi\u0144ski and Andrzej Wierci\u0144ski.<\/p>\n<p>Continuing the tradition of the Easter Festival, the concerts will be complemented by regular accompanying events: the Exhibition of Musical Manuscripts at the Jagiellonian Library (open from 18 March in Krak\u00f3w) and the International Symposium. The festival will highlight foremost Polish symphonic and choral ensembles as well as an array of renowned vocalists, including Natalia Rubi\u015b, Iwona Hossa, Karolina Sikora, Anna Luba\u0144ska, Aleksandra Kubas-Kruk, Krystian Krzeszowiak, Mariusz Godlewski, \u0141ukasz Konieczny and Tomasz Konieczny.\n[caption id=\"attachment_3325\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"1024\"] Foto \u00a9 Bruno Frydrych \/ Plasterstudio[\/caption]\nIn the inaugural concert, Maestro Andrzej Boreyko and the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Beethoven\u2019s \u201cMass in C major\u201d and two works by Krzysztof Penderecki: \u201cAdagietto\u201d from \u201cParadise Lost\u201d and \u201cAgnus Dei\u201d from \u201cPolish Requiem\u201d; in the closing concert, he will conduct works by Penderecki, P\u00e4rt, Ravel and Kanczeli (European premiere of \u201cLibera me\u201d). At the home of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Maestro Jacek Kaspszyk will perform Beethoven\u2019s \u201cMissa solemnis\u201d. Wroc\u0142aw Baroque Orchestra under the baton of Jaros\u0142aw Thiel, with top soloists such as Julia Lezhneva (soprano), Terry Wey (countertenor), Joshua Ellicott (tenor), Sascha Emanuel Kramer (tenor), Sebastian Noack (bass), and Wolf Matthias Friedrich (bass), will present Bach\u2019s \u201cSt John Passion\u201d in the concert hall of the National Forum of Music in Wroc\u0142aw.\nMaestro Jerzy Maksymiuk and Sinfonia Varsovia will present an all-Beethoven repertoire. Symphony concerts will be performed by Polish ensembles such as the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw conducted by Micha\u0142 Klauza (works by Penderecki and Olivier Messiaen), Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra under Dawid Runtz (works by Beethoven and Sibelius, Haydn\u2019s \u201cTrumpet Concerto in E flat major\u201d with cadenzas by K. Penderecki performed by G\u00e1bor Boldoczki), as well as Sinfonietta Cracovia led by Jurek Dyba\u0142 (works by Penderecki, Takemitsu and Barber). Continuing the series of Unknown Operas, \u0141ukasz Borowicz will present two one-act works \u2013 Paul Hindemith\u2019s \u201cSancta Susanna\u201d and Gustav Holst\u2019s \u201cSavitri\u201d. The Silesian String Quartet\u2019s chamber concert featuring the complete string quartets by Krzysztof Penderecki and Schumann\u2019s \u201cPiano Quintet in E flat major\u201d with pianist Aleksandra \u015awigut, promises to be intriguing. The festival will carry on promoting the youngest generation of performers: piano recitals will be given by \u0141ukasz Krupi\u0144ski and Andrzej Wierci\u0144ski.\nContinuing the tradition of the Easter Festival, the concerts will be complemented by regular accompanying events: the Exhibition of Musical Manuscripts at the Jagiellonian Library (open from 18 March in Krak\u00f3w) and the International Symposium.
