For the second time, the Polish Institute Brussels participates in the Polish Day in Brussels organised on the occasion of Polish Heritage Days in the iconic Parc du Cinquantenaire. This year’s attractions are linked to the 550th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus, the famous Polish astronomer who in the 16th century completely changed the way we understand our solar system.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The program of the picnic includes not only plenty of free activities for all generations, competitions with interesting prizes associated with Copernicus, but also dancing. At the invitation of the Polish Institute, The Cracovia Danza Ballet<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>will perform on stage, presenting fragments of the spectacles „Planets Moved by Dance” and „Alla Polacca”. The performance will end with the Ballet dancing together with the audience. <\/strong><\/p>\n

At the Polish Institute Brussels tent, just at the entrance to the park from Avenue de Tervueren, families with children will be offered a number of attractions – face painting in cosmic patterns and a photo booth to take you into outer space<\/strong>. We will also invite everyone to the Planetary Nebula Laboratory<\/strong>. Artist Dominik Smu\u017cny (B61 Institute<\/a>) will create edible models of ephemeral astronomical objects<\/strong> to share with the audience. As part of the performance, two astronauts will distribute cosmic cotton candy to everyone. Moreover, a visit to the stand will be an opportunity to learn more about the cultural activities offered by the Polish Institute Brussels.<\/p>\n

In the evening we invite everyone to a concert of a young yet celebrated Polish band Kwiat Jab\u0142oni<\/a><\/em> (The Apple Blossom). It will be also a chance to taste traditional Polish delicacies and beer. Representatives of the Polish Regions will bring the best of Poland\u2019s healthy, artisanal food and drinks to Cinquantenaire.\u00a0<\/p>\n
