id=\"caption-attachment-13010\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wojciech Fangor dans son atelier, 1964<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong><br>Wojciech Fangor<\/strong> est n\u00e9 en 1922 \u00e0 Varsovie. Sa formation artistique a \u00e9t\u00e9 perturb\u00e9e par la Seconde Guerre mondiale, qui l&#8217;a ensuite pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 pratiquer le r\u00e9alisme socialiste en tant que peintre. Entre 1953 et 1961, il est professeur assistant \u00e0 l&#8217;Acad\u00e9mie des beaux-arts de Varsovie. \u00c0 la m\u00eame \u00e9poque, il est \u00e9galement actif en tant que concepteur d&#8217;affiches utilisant des collages, des textes, des dessins et des photographies. Il devient l&#8217;un des fondateurs de l&#8217;\u00c9cole polonaise d&#8217;affiches. Bien qu&#8217;il ait r\u00e9ussi dans ces domaines, Fangor a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de s&#8217;int\u00e9resser aux exp\u00e9riences spatiales. En 1958, il construit le premier &#8222;environnement&#8221; jamais r\u00e9alis\u00e9, <em>A Study of Space<\/em>. Ces exp\u00e9riences aboutissent progressivement \u00e0 ses peintures abstraites illusionnistes aux contours diffus de couleurs et de formes. Apr\u00e8s de brefs s\u00e9jours \u00e0 Vienne, Paris, Bath, Londres et Berlin, Fangor s&#8217;installe aux \u00c9tats-Unis en 1966 o\u00f9 il participe \u00e0 d&#8217;importantes expositions comme &#8222;The Responsive Eye&#8221; au MoMA. Il pr\u00e9sente \u00e9galement une exposition personnelle au mus\u00e9e Guggenheim en 1970. Apr\u00e8s avoir pris sa retraite en tant que professeur d&#8217;art \u00e0 l&#8217;universit\u00e9 Fairleigh Dickinson dans le New Jersey, il est retourn\u00e9 en Pologne en 1999. Il a continu\u00e9 \u00e0 faire de l&#8217;art et, en 2014, il a con\u00e7u des peintures murales pour les murs des stations du m\u00e9tro de Varsovie.
