{"id":1313,"date":"2019-12-06T15:58:00","date_gmt":"2019-12-06T14:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/instytutpolski.pl\/brussels\/?p=1313"},"modified":"2020-01-20T16:10:26","modified_gmt":"2020-01-20T15:10:26","slug":"mieczyslaw-weinberg-the-composer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/instytutpolski.pl\/brussels\/en\/2019\/12\/06\/mieczyslaw-weinberg-the-composer\/","title":{"rendered":"Mieczys\u0142aw Weinberg : The Composer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Chamber Music for Europe-Biennale<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Polish Institute in Brussels, pays tribute to the Polish composer\u00a0<strong>Mieczys\u0142aw Weinberg<\/strong>\u00a0on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth (1919-1996).<\/p>\n<p>Too little is known about the music of this composer, whose destiny embraces the tragic adventures of the 20th century.<\/p>\n<p>Weinberg&#8217;s heritage is rich with 26 symphonies, 7 concerts, 17 string quartets, 22 sonatas for piano and other instruments, about 30 singing cycles and 7 operas and 2 ballets, as well as music for 65 films, plays and radio.<\/p>\n<p>For the project, the organisers brought together Belgian and international musicians who are experts in the repertoire of chamber music, particularly that of Weinberg.
