In the frame work of the\u00a0Joteyka Award Ceremony<\/strong>, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Brussels, ASBL BEKAP in Brussels, ASBL Daskalia in Leuven and the Polish Institute in Brussels join forces in order to present the film „Si\u0142aczki”\u00a0<\/strong>directed by\u00a0Marta Dzido<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Piotr \u015aliwowski<\/strong>.
<\/strong>
This 4th edition of the Polish Women’s Award of Excellence in Belgium – Joteyka is organised under the high patronage of His Excellency Ambassador\u00a0Artur Orzechowski<\/strong>.

Synopsis

<\/strong>\u00a0„Si\u0142aczki”\u00a0<\/strong>portrays the lives of several Polish activists from cities like Pozna\u0144, Warsaw, Lublin and Cracow.\u00a0This fictionalized documentary\u00a0shows their efforts, obstinacy and consistency in their struggle for access to education and the work sphere, engagement in the independence movement and dedication to the ideas of freedom and emancipation, which led J\u00f3zef Pi\u0142sudski, the Chief of State, to signing the decree on women\u2019s voting rights on November 28th 1918.
