Krystyna D\u0104BROWSKA<\/strong>\u00a0honours us with the presentation of her poems during the ninth edition of the\u00a0TRANSPOESIE<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>Festival, on the\u00a03rd of October<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a0Maison du Livre<\/strong>. Accompanied by poets from all over Europe: \u00a0Yasmin Hafedh<\/a>\u00a0(Austria),\u00a0Jan Kaus<\/a>\u00a0(Estonia),\u00a0Dan Coman<\/a>\u00a0(Roumania) et\u00a0Paul Mathieu<\/a>\u00a0(Luxembourg),\u00a0Krystyna D\u0105browska<\/a>\u00a0will present her poems in their original version. Everything will be understandable thanks to the translations projected simultaneously when reading the poems, in French and English.<\/p>\n

The poetic performances will be followed by a drink, an opportunity to meet the poets personally.

About Krystyna D\u0105browska<\/strong><\/p>\n

Krystyna D\u0105browska (born in 1979) is a poet, essayist and translator. She graduated from the Graphics Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Author of four poetry books: Biuro podr\u00f3\u017cy (Travel Agency, Zielona Sowa, 2006), Bia\u0142e krzes\u0142a (White Chairs, WBPiCAK, 2012), Czas i przes\u0142ona (Time and Aperture, Znak, 2014), \u015acie\u017cki d\u017awi\u0119kowe (Soundtracks, Wydawnictwo a5, 2018). In 2013 she won two of the most prestigious Polish literary prizes: the Wis\u0142awa Szymborska Award and the Ko\u015bcielski Award. Her poems have been translated into English, German (Austausch der Fenster, Edition Thanh\u00e4user, 2018) , Italian (La faccia del mio vicino, Valigie Rosse 2017), Spanish, Russian, Swedish, Greek, French, Bulgarian, Macedonian, Croatian, Lithuanian, Romanian and Chinese. They appear regularly in literary magazines in Poland and abroad, including Harper\u2019s Magazine, Ploughshares, The Threepenny Review, The Southern Review, Akzente, Sinn und Form, and Manuskripte. Her translations include the poetry of W. C. Williams, W. B. Yeats, Thomas Hardy, Thom Gunn, Charles Simic, and Kim Moore, as well as selected letters of Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell.<\/p>\n

The most international poetry festival in Brussels! Poetry, the beauty of languages and European multilingualism as well as the work of translators have been honoured during this event for nine years now. Each year, the festival invites about twenty poets and poets to declaim, shout, whisper, sing or simply tell their visions of the world. They are also invading Brussels public transport to bring poetry into the daily lives of travellers.<\/p>\n
