The Kortfilmfestival starts on November 29 in Leuven, during which you will see 2 Polish film productions.\u00a0Every year, Kortfilmfestival Leuven, founded in 1995, presents a selection of short films – fiction and animation, documentaries as well as non-narrative films.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"The Flemish and European short film competitions are an essential part of the festival. Annually, around nine jury and audience awards are handed out. In addition the festival always offers a series of retrospectives and specials. And ever since 2007 the Flemish Audiovisual Fund awards its Wildcards at the festival.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The competitions are the beating heart of the festival. Besides the European Competition<\/a>, there are Flemish competitions for\u00a0fiction<\/a>,\u00a0animation<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0documentary<\/a>. The perfect\u00a0chance to find out which young directors will be making it big in\u00a0the film scene. On Sunday, 1 December, the highly sought after\u00a0VAF Wildcards<\/a> will be awarded at the festival!\u00a0<\/p>\n

During the festival, as part of the European Competition, two Polish films will be presented – <\/strong>\u201cWinter\u201d by Tomek Popakul<\/strong><\/em> and \u201c <\/strong>Take me to her<\/strong><\/em> \u201d by Bartlomiej Blaszczynski<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The European Competition is not easy to describe. Liveaction fiction, animation and documentary alternate in an exciting mix of international film talent. From more than 3,000 entries, seven programmes remained. The winner of this category immediately makes it to the longlist of the Oscars, the European Film Awards and for British candidates: the BAFTAs. Equally important: viewers also vote for the audience award.<\/p>\n

A member of this year\u2019s Competition Jury is Micha\u0142 Toczek, who was honored with the Peer Award for his film \u201cBe Somebody” during the last edition of the festival.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
