Apr\u00e8s une p\u00e9riode s\u00e9rielle dans les ann\u00e9es 50 et 60, G\u00f3recki s\u2019est orient\u00e9 vers une musique religieuse, minimaliste et moins complexe.\u00a0<em>Totus Tuus<\/em>\u00a0(<em>Tout \u00e0 toi<\/em>), compos\u00e9 sur un po\u00e8me de Maria Bugos\u0142awska adress\u00e9 \u00e0 la Vierge Marie, est la plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bre composition de G\u00f3recki pour ch\u0153ur a capella.<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 accus\u00e9 de \u00ab formalisme \u00bb,\u00a0<strong>Witold Lutos\u0142awski<\/strong>\u00a0a effectu\u00e9 un virage \u00e0 180 degr\u00e9s et pris conscience de la valeur de la musique populaire. Son\u00a0<em>Concerto pour orchestre<\/em><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>en trois mouvements est influenc\u00e9 par la musique de la Kurpie (r\u00e9gion \u00e9thnique de la Pologne). Cette composition a rendu Witold Lutos\u0142awski c\u00e9l\u00e8bre sur le plan international.<\/p>\n<p>Le compositeur russe\u00a0<strong>Sergue\u00ef Rachmaninov<\/strong>\u00a0re\u00e7ut une lettre contenant la traduction en russe du po\u00e8me d\u2019Edgar Allan Poe\u00a0<em>The Bells\u00a0<\/em><em>(Les cloches)<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 avec la suggestion d\u2019adapter ce po\u00e8me en musique. Rachmaninov \u00e9tait \u00e0 la recherche de textes, c\u2019est pourquoi il accepta volontiers.
