Centre d’innovation et de design au Grand-Hornu<\/p>\n
Iconic designs by Polish architect Oskar Zi\u0119ta<\/strong> will be part of theexhibition „<\/strong>Design on Air<\/a>” at the Centre d’innovation et de design au Grand-Hornu<\/strong> from June 23, 2019 until October 13, 2019. <\/p>\n About „Design on air”<\/strong> Air – for now – is free and belongs to everyone. But in the Anthropocene it becomes more and more threatened and requires protection. How do designers deal with air? How do they use it? What does it mean to them?<\/p>\n This exhibition looks at the theme of air from different design perspectives. From air used for material objects, like inflatable objects and structures, to air in speculative design scenarios. Including technical and practical design solutions as well as alternative or futurist concepts, from air purification and ventilation to air travel. Because just like air, with its tendency to mix and diffuse, design is essentially mixed, plural, rather elusive and … vital.<\/p>\n About Oskar Zi\u0119ta <\/strong> PRACTICAL INFORMATION<\/strong>

Oskar Zi\u0119ta<\/a> \u2013 architect, founder and CEO of Zieta Prozessdesign. Born in 1975, he graduated from the Swiss Eidgen\u00f6ssische Technische Hochschule in Z\u00fcrich, he has been working at this academy as a research assistant at the department of CAAD \u2013 Computer Aided Architectural Design. Oskar Zieta has been awarded the AUDI \u2013 Mentor-Price 2011, the Red Dot Award 2008, DMY Award for Innovation in production process 2008, the YDMI 2008, the German Design Council Prize 2009, the Forum Aid Awards 2009, technology Award \u2013 Materialica 2009, MUST HAVE Design \u0141\u00f3dz 2011 and was nominated to the \u201cSchweizer Design Preis\u201d 2009 and the \u201cDobry Wz\u00f3r\u201d 2009. The Wire Magazine called his designs \u201cfurniture of the future\u201d. His designs carved out their way into numerous prestigious collections including Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, Zurich Design Museum and the Baden State Museum in Karlsruhe. He calls his attitude towards design Prozessdesign and it is the name of his two studios in Wroc\u0142aw and in Zurich.<\/p>\n
