With generosity and attention, they play with attraction, repetition, form, and emotions to choreographically explore physical desire, lack, hope, and loss. In solo or unison, they challenge each other and make contact between themselves or, at times, with the audience. The proximity of bodies breaks the audience&#8217;s passivity: the gaze becomes movement, and movement &#8211; a way of being seen, a reciprocity that disrupts classical performance. For Dziarnowska, improvisation and embodied knowledge are bulwarks against our need for rationality and linearity.
