Krzysztof SIWCZYK<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is one of 7 poets invited to read their work at the seventh edition of the\u00a0TRANSPOESIE<\/a>\u00a0festival on the evening of\u00a09 November<\/strong>\u00a0at the\u00a0Balassi Institute<\/strong>, Brussels. The Polish poet will be accompanied by the Austrian\u00a0Mieze MEDUZA<\/a>,\u00a0Oddfr\u00ed\u00f0ur Marni RASMUSSEN<\/a>, a poet from the Faroe Islands, the Hungarian\u00a0Anna TER\u00c9K<\/a>, the Luxemburger\u00a0Florent TONIELLO<\/a>,\u00a0Gerdur Kristn\u00fd<\/a>, who hails from Iceland, and Portuguese poet\u00a0Maria DO ROS\u00c1RIO PEDREIRA<\/a>. The authors will read their poems in the original language, whilst translations in French, Dutch and English are projected onto the screen.\u00a0\u00a0

These two evenings are being organised by\u00a0EUNIC Brussels<\/a>, the European Union National Institutes for Culture.<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/a>
Krzysztof Siwczyk<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0was born in 1977. He studied Cultural Studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice and lives in Gliwice. A poet, journalist and critic, he is the author of around ten collections of poetry and his work has been translated into several languages, notably into French, German, Bulgarian and Czech. His work has won several literary prizes, such as the Ko\u015bcielski Foundation prize in 2014. Moreover, he also authored two books of literary criticism and television programmes about literature. \u00a0He is also an actor and has appeared, inter alia, in Lech Majewski\u2019s film on the suicidal poet Rafa\u0142 Wojaczek (the film was nominated for a European Film Award in Paris in 2000). He is a member of the Association of Polish Writers and the Pen Club as well as the European Academy of Film and is Artistic Director of the \u00a0Krakow\u00a0<\/span>Mi\u0142osz International Poetry Festival<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
