Over a hundred events related to design will be taking place from\u00a0<strong style=\"line-height: 19.2px\">7 until 30 September\u00a0<\/strong>as part of the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #bdc0c2;line-height: 19.2px;cursor: pointer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.designseptember.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DESIGN SEPTEMBER festival<\/a>. Making its second appearance at the festival will be a Polish oasis, the \u2018<a style=\"color: #bdc0c2;line-height: 19.2px;cursor: pointer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.culturepolonaise.eu\/3,4,782,en,Polish_Design_Island_II#mik\">Polish Design Island<\/a>\u2019.<br style=\"line-height: 19.2px\" \/>\u2018<strong style=\"line-height: 19.2px\">Polish Design Island<\/strong>\u2019 is a living interior furnished with extravagant pieces, innovative or original, always decorative and inventive, and all from contemporary Polish designers. What sets this exhibit apart is that the interior will be available for the public to view\u00a0<strong style=\"line-height: 19.2px\">day and night<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0<strong style=\"line-height: 19.2px\">5 until 24 September<\/strong>&#8230; because it will be presented in a transparent container placed on the\u00a0<strong style=\"line-height: 19.2px\">place du March\u00e9 aux Poissons<\/strong>\u00a0(behind the Sainte-Catherine church). The MiK can become a stage, a gallery, a cinema, a theatre, a meeting place or a venue in which to hold workshops. Very eclectic projects are assembled here, whether the location be a large city or more secluded areas. MIK creates and invites people to get involved in the creative process. \u00a0<br \/><strong>Polish Design Island 2017<\/strong>\u00a0(PDI) is a voyage around Europe \u2013 from Brussels to Lodz via Copenhagen and Szczecin \u2013 in order to present the most interesting work to emerge from the field of Polish design: 27 designers, 9 Polish regions, 4 European cities, 6000 km covered on the journey and 7 weeks during which the work is displayed in public spaces. This compact, black and exclusive place \u2013 a shipping container transformed into a fictitious living space \u2013 presents objects which all have some connection to the topic of ecology: nearly 30 designs underscore the ideas of reasoned development and they show different methods of how to create forms, functions and meaning by minimising what we refer to as our \u2018Food ecoprint\u2019.<br \/>Polish Design Island 2017 will kick off its \u2018design tour\u2019 by paying a visit to Brussels where, under the auspices of the Polish embassy and the Polish Institute, it will form an integral part of the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/designseptember.be\/project2016-uk-162-7.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Design September<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>festival. At the vernissage, a concert and 3D mapping will take place. It will then continue on to Lodz where it will take part in Poland\u2019s most prestigious design event of all, the\u00a0<strong>Lodz Design Festival<\/strong>. In Copenhagen, the container will be set up close to the Polish embassy, whilst in Szczecin, its presence will be complemented by a series of conferences, a space for artists to exhibit their work, fashion shows, workshops and DJ sets.<br \/>As part of Polish Design Island 2017, the PDI Academy will be established in collaboration with experts, designers and producers who support the project. The MiK can become a stage, a gallery, a cinema, a theatre, a meeting place or a venue in which to hold workshops. Very eclectic projects are assembled here, whether the location be a large city or more secluded areas. MIK creates and invites people to get involved in the creative process. \u00a0Polish Design Island 2017\u00a0(PDI) is a voyage around Europe \u2013 from Brussels to Lodz via Copenhagen and Szczecin \u2013 in order to present the most interesting work to emerge from the field of Polish design: 27 designers, 9 Polish regions, 4 European cities, 6000 km covered on the journey and 7 weeks during which the work is displayed in public spaces. This compact, black and exclusive place \u2013 a shipping container transformed into a fictitious living space \u2013 presents objects which all have some connection to the topic of ecology: nearly 30 designs underscore the ideas of reasoned development and they show different methods of how to create forms, functions and meaning by minimising what we refer to as our \u2018Food ecoprint\u2019.Polish Design Island 2017 will kick off its \u2018design tour\u2019 by paying a visit to Brussels where, under the auspices of the Polish embassy and the Polish Institute, it will form an integral part of the\u00a0Design September\u00a0festival. At the vernissage, a concert and 3D mapping will take place. It will then continue on to Lodz where it will take part in Poland\u2019s most prestigious design event of all, the\u00a0Lodz Design Festival. In Copenhagen, the container will be set up close to the Polish embassy, whilst in Szczecin, its presence will be complemented by a series of conferences, a space for artists to exhibit their work, fashion shows, workshops and DJ sets.As part of Polish Design Island 2017, the PDI Academy will be established in collaboration with experts, designers and producers who support the project. The MiK can become a stage, a gallery, a cinema, a theatre, a meeting place or a venue in which to hold workshops. Very eclectic projects are assembled here, whether the location be a large city or more secluded areas. MIK creates and invites people to get involved in the creative process. \u00a0Polish Design Island 2017\u00a0(PDI) is a voyage around Europe \u2013 from Brussels to Lodz via Copenhagen and Szczecin \u2013 in order to present the most interesting work to emerge from the field of Polish design: 27 designers, 9 Polish regions, 4 European cities, 6000 km covered on the journey and 7 weeks during which the work is displayed in public spaces. This compact, black and exclusive place \u2013 a shipping container transformed into a fictitious living space \u2013 presents objects which all have some connection to the topic of ecology: nearly 30 designs underscore the ideas of reasoned development and they show different methods of how to create forms, functions and meaning by minimising what we refer to as our \u2018Food ecoprint\u2019.Polish Design Island 2017 will kick off its \u2018design tour\u2019 by paying a visit to Brussels where, under the auspices of the Polish embassy and the Polish Institute, it will form an integral part of the\u00a0Design September\u00a0festival. At the vernissage, a concert and 3D mapping will take place. It will then continue on to Lodz where it will take part in Poland\u2019s most prestigious design event of all, the\u00a0Lodz Design Festival. In Copenhagen, the container will be set up close to the Polish embassy, whilst in Szczecin, its presence will be complemented by a series of conferences, a space for artists to exhibit their work, fashion shows, workshops and DJ sets.As part of Polish Design Island 2017, the PDI Academy will be established in collaboration with experts, designers and producers who support the project.
