In 2017, we celebrate the 180th anniversary of the birth of pianist, composer and pedagogue\u00a0J\u00f3zef WIENIAWSKI<\/a>\u00a0(1837-1912), a veritable cultural bridge between Poland and Belgium at the turn of the century. In this connection, two events are being held at the beginning of September: the first is a\u00a0conference\/concert<\/strong>\u00a0in the\u00a0salons of the Polish Embassy<\/strong>\u00a0(find out more\u00a0HERE<\/a>), and the second is a concert at the\u00a0Musical Instruments Museum<\/a>\u00a0(find out more\u00a0HERE<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Professor Piotr NIEMCEWICZ, expert custodian at the Polish Ministry of the Culture of National Heritage, will talk about recent renovation work on the tomb of J\u00f3zef Wieniawski which is situated in the Ixelles cemetery.

The conference will be topped off by a short concert devoted to\u00a0J\u00f3zef WIENIAWSKI<\/a>, with\u00a0Hanna LIZINKIEWICZ<\/a>\u00a0(piano) and\u00a0Krzysztof KARPETA<\/a>\u00a0(cello).
