The links which bind Belgium and Poland, and more specifically, the ULB and the Polish university milieu, are unfamiliar to many, but nevertheless extremely important. This is what the study day will aim to demonstrate. The first panel, devoted to\u00a0Belgo\u2013Polish relations<\/strong>, will show that these connections date back to the 1830\u2019s, continued throughout the whole of the XIXth century and were the source of imporant cultural exchanges at the turn of the century. The second and third panels will shine a spotlight on the ULB as an institution favoured by Polish students in the XXth century. Moreover, presentations on several major figures, such as writer and professor Marian PANKOWSKI, will allow us to make sense of the involvement of these Poles in the life of the city of Brussels.
This study day is part of the year focused on the theme „Bruxelles, capital(e) \u00e9tudiant(e)<\/a>„, in partnership with the Brussels Polish Institute, the Philixte research cenre and the Polish department of the ULB.
