Il \u00e9tudie \u00e0 l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie des Beaux-Arts de \u0141\u00f3d\u017a et \u00e0 l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie des Beaux-Arts de Varsovie. Opa\u0142ka \u00e9tant bien \u00e9tabli comme artiste conceptuel en Pologne dans les ann\u00e9es 1960, il d\u00e9cide de retourner en France en 1977 et obtient la nationalit\u00e9 fran\u00e7aise en 1985. Les derni\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies de sa vie, il travailla de fa\u00e7on obsessive \u00e0 ses s\u00e9ries sans fin, avant de mourir le 6 ao\u00fbt 2011 \u00e0 Rome (Italie).
