Wioletta GRZEGORZEWSKA<\/a>\u00a0lives in the United Kingdom. She writes in Polish. Her biography slots perfectly into the subject matter which this year\u2019s edition of\u00a0TRANSPOESIE<\/a>\u00a0has chosen to address at its evening event to be held on\u00a03 November<\/strong>\u00a0at the\u00a0Bozar Centre for Fine Arts<\/strong>:\u00a0poets and the themes of exile<\/strong>.
She will be accompanied by Fiston MUJILA, a Congolese poet who resides in Austria, Faraj BAYAKDAR, a Syrian poet who lives in Sweden, Lidija DIMKOVSKA, a Macedonian poet living in Slovenia and Ricardo DOMENECK, a Brazilian poet who has made his home in Berlin. It goes without saying that it will be a high-caliber event! \u00a0
The authors will be reading their poems in their original language whilst translations in French, Dutch and English are projected onto the screen.

The Transpoesie opening night will take place on\u00a026 September<\/strong>, European Day of Langagues, at the\u00a0Cervantes Institute<\/strong>. Two poets will participate:\u00a0Marlena BRAESTER<\/a>\u00a0(Isra\u00ebl) and\u00a0Elyasa KOYTAK<\/a>\u00a0(Turkey).

<\/a>
Wioletta GRZEGORZEWSKA<\/a>\u00a0is a writer and translator from the village of Kozieg\u0142owe, on the Krakow-Cz\u0119stochowa Plateau. She lived in Cz\u0119stochowa before leaving Poland for the Isle of Wight where she lived for around ten years. At present, she lives in East Tilbury, on the Thames.
She has published several tomes of poetry under the pseudonym\u00a0Wioletta GREG<\/strong>, notably\u00a0Wzory sko\u0144czono\u015bci i teorie przypadku\/Finite Formulae and Theories of Chance<\/em>\u00a0(translated into English by Marek Kazmierski), the mini book\u00a0Polska prowincja<\/em>\u00a0(written with Andrzej Muszy\u0144ski) and\u00a0Gugu\u0142a,<\/em>\u00a0a work of prose adapted for the stage by the Teatr Dramatyczny from Bia\u0142ystok.\u00a0
She was the winner of the Z\u0142ota Sowa Polonii prize in Vienna and was nominated for the prestigious NIKE prize, the Gdynia prize and the international Canadian prize The Griffin Poetry Prize.\u00a0
In January 2017, Portobello Books will publish her book\u00a0Swallowing Mercury<\/em>.\u00a0
Her work has been translated into English, Spanish, Catalan, French and Welsh.<\/p>\n
