As every year, the\u00a0Parc de Bruxelles<\/strong>\u00a0will this year host the Comic Strip Festival (la\u00a0F\u00eate de la Bande dessin\u00e9e<\/a>). This edition, which will take place from\u00a02 until 4 September<\/strong>, will feature two Polish authors,\u00a0Tomasz SAMOJLIK<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Agata WAWRYNIUK<\/a>. They will present their work and sign copies of their books at the\u00a0EUNIC<\/a>\u00a0stand, which you can find in the international pavilion. Tomasz SAMOJLIK will be running the workshop \u2018Let’s draw the largest forest in the world\u2019 and will participate in the round table discussion \u2018Current Trends in European Comics\u2019 whilst Agata WAWRYNIUK will be running the workshop \u2018How to draw a joke\u2019 and will participate in the round table discussion \u2018Everyday Life in Comics\u2019.

Tomasz SAMOJLIK<\/strong>
There are two faces to Tomasz SAMOJLIK. By day, he\u2019s a bilogy PhD, dealing with science (more specifically the history of nature in the forest of Bia\u0142owie\u017ca, about which he is undertaking research for the Institute of Biology of Mammals, which is part of the Polish Academy of Sciences. By night, he writes and draws comics in which he combines a gift for telling stories with his considerable knowledge of biology. This allows him to transmit his knowlege to the youngest generation of readers in a fun way. One of his recent scripts was for a cartoon on Pompik the bison. He has also produced work for the audio version of the comic book\u00a0Ryj\u00f3wka przeznaczenia<\/em>\u00a0(The Shrew of Destiny).

Agata WAWRYNIUK<\/strong>
Agata WAWRYNIUK is a graphic artist, illustratrator and comic book author. Her autobiographical comic book,\u00a0Polish-English Conversations<\/em>, received a very warm welcome in Poland and picked up many prizes. Since 2009, the Comic Strip Festival has been the place in Brussels to celebrate the comic in all its forms, welcoming more than 100,000 people each year. Children and adults, amateurs or specialists, there’s something for everyone in the multitude of activities on offer.
For the 2016 edition, Brussels is gearing up for a colourful weekend from 2 until 4 September, with its now renowned Festival BD: the Parc de Bruxelles will be housing the Comic Museums, dozens of exhibitions, booksellers, comic book and desktop-publishing dealers, conferences, workshops and hundreds of authors signing their works!
However, the Comic Festival is also a night-time event in the Parc de Bruxelles, the Balloon\u2019s Day Parade, the Tintin Rally Magazine, guided tours, comic exhibitions and activities all over the city.

EUNIC Brussels
<\/strong>EUNIC<\/a>, an abbreviation of 'European Union National Institutes for Culture’, is a network of National Institutes for Culture from the Member States of the European Union, which aims to contribute to cultural diversity inside and outside of the EU and to strengthen cultural dialogue and exchange. EUNIC Brussels is part of a network of over 90 EUNIC clusters present on all continents.
<\/span>The EUNIC stand during the Comic Strip Festival is an event organised by the cultural institutes and official representations of the Basque Country, Estonia, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Turkey.<\/span><\/p>\n
