Founded in 1948 by UNESCO and an international group of experts in theatre and dance, the ITI aims to encourage international exchanges, support artistic endeavour and fight all forms of discrimination.<br \/>Amongst the authors who have written a message, one can cite John Malkovich, Robert Lepage, Tankred Dorst, Vaclav Havel, Peter Brook, Eug\u00e8ne Ionesco, Luchino Visconti, Pablo Neruda, Dimitrii Chostakovitch and Arthur Miller.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a name=\"2015-250\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0<strong>19 November 1765<\/strong>, the first performance by the\u00a0<strong>Warsaw National Theatre<\/strong>\u00a0took place. The theatre had been founded by King\u00a0<strong>Stanis\u0142aw August Poniatowski<\/strong>. This date is viewed as the starting point in the history of Polish public theatre. It is not the only theatre-related anniversary that Poland is commemorating this year: it is also celebrating the\u00a0<strong>130th anniversary of the birth of Stanis\u0142aw Ignacy Witkiewicz<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong>100th anniversary of the birth of Tadeusz Kantor<\/strong>. Theatrical events will be held all year in Poland. Just one example is the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.warszawskie.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Theatre Encounters<\/a>\u00a0in Warsaw, which will take place until 1 April.<br \/>The main organiser of the festivities linked to the 250th anniversary of the Public Theatre in Poland is the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mkidn.gov.pl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ministry for Culture and National Heritage<\/a>. Founded in 1948 by UNESCO and an international group of experts in theatre and dance, the ITI aims to encourage international exchanges, support artistic endeavour and fight all forms of discrimination.Amongst the authors who have written a message, one can cite John Malkovich, Robert Lepage, Tankred Dorst, Vaclav Havel, Peter Brook, Eug\u00e8ne Ionesco, Luchino Visconti, Pablo Neruda, Dimitrii Chostakovitch and Arthur Miller.\nOn\u00a019 November 1765, the first performance by the\u00a0Warsaw National Theatre\u00a0took place. The theatre had been founded by King\u00a0Stanis\u0142aw August Poniatowski. This date is viewed as the starting point in the history of Polish public theatre. It is not the only theatre-related anniversary that Poland is commemorating this year: it is also celebrating the\u00a0130th anniversary of the birth of Stanis\u0142aw Ignacy Witkiewicz\u00a0and the\u00a0100th anniversary of the birth of Tadeusz Kantor. Theatrical events will be held all year in Poland. Just one example is the\u00a0Theatre Encounters\u00a0in Warsaw, which will take place until 1 April.The main organiser of the festivities linked to the 250th anniversary of the Public Theatre in Poland is the\u00a0Ministry for Culture and National Heritage.
