He is a man who has brought contemporary visual arts to the Edinburgh Festival. He has been involved in more than 50 Edinburgh Festivals, and has brought great artists like Joseph Beuys and Tadeusz Kantor to thousands of people. He has also brought the visual arts from other parts of the world, from Eastern Europe, long before other people were interested. And he has inspired us all\u2026\u2019<br \/>Sir Nicholas Serota, Direktor, Tate<\/em><\/p>\nSehr geehrte Damen und Herren,<br \/>sehr geehrte Kunst- und Theaterliebhaber,<br \/><br \/>mit gro\u00dfer Freude m\u00f6chten wir Sie im Namen des Polnischen Instituts D\u00fcsseldorf und der Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen zu einer nicht allt\u00e4glichen Begegnung mit Dr. Richard Demarco einladen. Der Anlass f\u00fcr die Einladung des ehemaligen Direktors des Edinburgh International Festival nach D\u00fcsseldorf sind die Aktivit\u00e4ten anl\u00e4sslich des 100. Geburtstages des polnischen K\u00fcnstlers Tadeusz Kantor in der Stadt, in der auch Joseph Beuys wirkte und arbeitete.<br \/><br \/>Gerade durch das Engagement von Richard Demarco, dem gro\u00dfen F\u00f6rderer der visuellen und performativen K\u00fcnste, begegneten sich die beiden au\u00dferordentlichen K\u00fcnstlerpers\u00f6nlichkeiten, Beuys und Kantor, zuallererst in der Festivalstadt Edinburgh. Beuys erschien 1970 das erste Mal in der schottischen Hauptstadt, Kantor zwei Jahre sp\u00e4ter. Ihr Treffen ereignete sich 1973 auf dem Festival. Trotz der Unterschiede in Wirken und Werk dieser K\u00fcnstler, die beide vom 2. Geburtstages des polnischen K\u00fcnstlers Tadeusz Kantor in der Stadt, in der auch Joseph Beuys wirkte und arbeitete.Gerade durch das Engagement von Richard Demarco, dem gro\u00dfen F\u00f6rderer der visuellen und performativen K\u00fcnste, begegneten sich die beiden au\u00dferordentlichen K\u00fcnstlerpers\u00f6nlichkeiten, Beuys und Kantor, zuallererst in der Festivalstadt Edinburgh. Beuys erschien 1970 das erste Mal in der schottischen Hauptstadt, Kantor zwei Jahre sp\u00e4ter. Ihr Treffen ereignete sich 1973 auf dem Festival. Trotz der Unterschiede in Wirken und Werk dieser K\u00fcnstler, die beide vom 2.
