The first conference dedicated to 100 anniversary of Czes\u0142aw Mi\u0142osz will take place during 18th \u201ePublishers\u2019 Forum in Lviv\u201d. Two following conferences will take place in Kharkiv (V.N.Karazin Kharkiv National University) and Dnipropetrovsk (Oles Honchar Dnipropetrovsk National University) in October and November correspondingly. Discussions will be moderated by Yaroslav Hrytsak, Professor of history. The conference in Lviv will be called „Dialog of civilizations”, the one in Kharkiv – „Phenomenon of Central-European common intellectual and spiritual space created by creative elite”, and the Dnepropetrovsk conference will be called „Borderland is the area of all heresies”. Participants of the conferences will be representatives of creative and scientific elite of Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Russia and Belarus, among which there will be renowned authorities and representatives of various cultural and civilization circles and traditions: Adam Michnik, Myroslav Marynovych, Anne Applebaum, Andrzej Mencwel, Oksana Zabuzhko, Herkus Kun\u010dius and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
„Usually revolutions are started easily and quickly. But their consequences are felt by several generations. The main consequence of the 1989 revolution was peaceful parting with Communism. However it is still a big question whether a new united Europe will be its long-term effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lesson of all revolutions is very simple: during great political upheavals the biggest realists are those who demand impossible. At the end of 1989 Czes\u0142aw Mi\u0142osz wrote that the death of Marxism created the need for another vision and not refusal of all predictions in general.
