A concert dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Stanis\u0142aw Moniuszko will take place in the National Philharmonic of Ukraine with the support of the Polish-Canadian Independent Culture Foundation \u201cPOLCANART\u201d and the Stanis\u0142aw Moniuszko\u2019s Music Appreciation Society in Poland.<\/p>\n
Stanis\u0142aw Moniuszko (1819\u20131872) was a classic of the Polish music and is considered the father of the Polish national opera. His musical heritage consists of more than 300 pieces, including twelve operas (one unfinished), three ballets, eight operettas, five masses, about 80 romances, and 400 songs. One of his most famous operas, \u201cHalka\u201d to a libretto written by W\u0142odzimierz Wolski after his own poem, was staged in Kyiv opera theater in 1880s and was among the most popular performances at the time.<\/p>\n
In the Philharmonic, the Ensemble of folk instruments \u201cNative Tunes\u201d will perform arias from operas \u201cThe Haunted Manor\u201d, \u201cThe Countess\u201d, \u201cBeata\u201d, and lyrical vocal pieces.<\/p>\n
Soloists are Ielizaveta Lipitiuk (soprano), Aleksander Czajkowski-\u0141adysz (bass), Jaros\u0142aw Domaga\u0142a (piano).<\/p>\n
