100 years ago, on the night of April 21\/22, 1920, a Polish-Ukrainian agreement was signed, which went down in history as the Polish-Ukrainian Alliance Pilsudski-Petlura. Poland recognized Ukraine’s right to independence and a common border on the river Zbrucz was agreed. The agreement was to be supplemented by a trade agreement and military convention. A joint military operation against Bolshevik Russia was aimed to liberation of Ukraine, creation of an independent Ukrainian state, where free elections were to be held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Polish-Ukrainian agreement called the Pilsudski-Petlura Pact. Therefore, in cooperation with the J\u00f3zef Pi\u0142sudski Museum in Sulej\u00f3wek and the Military Historical Bureau, we intend to recall in the coming days Polish-Ukrainian activities that led to the political-military alliance of independent Poland and independent Ukraine. And although we know how 1920 ended, we believe that events from the past should be a lesson to us, and their heroes take a prominent place in our shared memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
