When one talks about the Polish avant-garde, it is worth remembering that its borders are marked, on the one hand, by the very different philosophies of representation of Stanis\u0142aw Ignacy Witkiewicz and W\u0142adys\u0142aw Strzemi\u0144ski that were formulated immediately after the declaration of independence in 1918, and, on the other hand, by metaphysics of art of Tadeusz Kantor that grew in the shadow of the Theatre of Death until 1990s.<\/p>\n
