The main purpose of the „PogranCult: GaliciaCult” forum, which is an organic continuation of the last year’s „DonCult” in Lviv, is to debunk historical myths and stereotypes about the Galicia region of Ukraine and to form adequate attitude towards the culture and history of Galicia among the Kharkiv community by means of public discussions and meetings with artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project strives to bring closer the culturally divided regions of Ukraine by strengthening the collaboration between people and institutions. This year’s program is the result of collaboration of leading curators, artists, and institutions from Galicia, Kyiv, and Kharkiv. It includes about 80 cultural events in the fields of visual arts, music, theater, literature, cinema, and a separate program of lectures and discussions, artistic residences and master classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Polish part will include the presentation of „The Myth of Galicia” book, which was published for the international exhibition with the same title held in Krak\u00f3w in the March of 2015, and the children’s book „The Galician Adventure Land” presentation by the author, Marta Hay<\/strong>, who works in the International Cultural Center in Krak\u00f3w. The film program will include Jerzy Kawalerowicz’s „Austeria” and Wojciech Has’ „The Hour-Glass Sanatorium”. Visitors from Poland will come to the „PogranCult: GaliciaCult” forum in Kharkiv: \u017banna Komar<\/strong>, art critic and curator of „The Myth of Galicia” exhibition who works in the Institute of European Heritage of the International Cultural Center in Krak\u00f3w, Jagoda Wierzejska<\/strong>, literary historian and critic, Katarzyna Koty\u0144ska<\/strong>, a Ukrainianist and lecturer of the Jagellonian University who will present her book „Lviv.
