The inaugural address on the theme &#8222;Will Jerzy Giedroyc&#8217;s doctrine save the contemporary Eastern Europe&#8221; will be given by Dr.Pawe\u0142 Kowal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8222;Bohdan Osadchuk European Politics Workshop&#8221;<\/strong>is a project initiated by the &#8222;New Eastern Europe&#8221; bi-monthly, Center of Polish and European Studies of NaUKMA, and Polish Institute in Kyiv.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pawe\u0142 Kowal<\/strong>&nbsp;is a well-known Polish politician and historian, laureate of this year&#8217;s Jerzy Giedroyc award<strong>.<\/strong>&nbsp;Deputy of the 5th and 6th Sejm (2005-2009), state secretary of the MFA in Jaros\u0142aw Kaczy\u0144ski&#8217;s government. Deputy of the European Parliament in 2009-2014. He headed the delegation of the European Parliament to the Commission on EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation. Area of scientific interests: Polish eastern policy, international relations and history of the 20th century in general.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Preconditions for initiation of the project<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; Ukraine urgently needs pro-European modernization and consistent movement towards European integration in accordance with the ratified Association and Free Trade Area Agreement with the EU. To this end the state has to undertake key reforms that shall be conducted in accordance with EU regulations and standards. Such situation requires new public and political leaders who would strengthen democratic pro-European public disposition and influence the state implementation of these public expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The goal of the project<\/strong>\u00a0is to help the new leaders who emerged riding on the wave of the Revolution of Dignity and the fight against Russian aggression to build the pro-European network of promising young activists, who would influence policies on local, regional and national levels in order to promote European modernization and integration of Ukraine, and to attract the widest possible circles of European Community to this process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kyiv<\/strong><br>12 December<br>Center of Polish and European Studies of NaUKMA, Voloska st. 8\/5, 6th building.
