The book is based on the new materials found in archives of Ukraine (most of them were discovered in Kyiv archives), Lithuania, and Poland. It describes the activities of the Volyn gymnasium and the lyceum in Kremenets. It was the first educational institution that used the Enlightenment model of school of the semi-higher type in the Right Bank Ukraine in the beginning of the 19th century.
