12th International Forum „Music of the Young” (IFMY) <\/strong>will take place from March 11 to 30, 2013 in Kyiv and Lviv. This time it will be held in the format of the Ukrainian New Music Biennale<\/strong>, which will consist of 2nd Kyiv International New Music Master Classes COURSE<\/strong>, Laboratory of Musical Criticize<\/strong> and 14 concerts of new music performed by Ukrainian and European collectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organizers are the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and the National Composers’ Union of Ukraine. The co-organizers are the Institute of Modern Art, Lviv Oblast Philharmonic, Goethe-Institut, Polish Institute in Kyiv, French Institute in Ukraine, Austrian Culture Forum, and Czech Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will include the following actions with participation of the following Polish musicians:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–        conductor Grzegorz Wierus<\/em><\/strong> with the Ukrainian collective Ensemble Nostri Temporis<\/em><\/strong> will hold the final concert of the COURSE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–        music critic and editor of the Ruch Muzyczny <\/em>magazine Monika Pasiecznik<\/em><\/strong> will give lectures „The Contexts of New Music” in Kyiv and Lviv as part of the Laboratory of Musical Criticize <\/strong>(the lectures are dedicated to the German philosopher Harry Lehmann), present Polish music magazines Ruch Muzyczny<\/em> and Glissando<\/em>, and give the foreword to the concert performances of Witold Lutos\u0142awski’s String Quartet<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–        string quartet NeoQuartet<\/em><\/strong> will play the program of new works of young Polish and Ukrainian composers and perform Witold Lutos\u0142awski’s String Quartet<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
