The festival organiser decided to extend the deadline for the submissions to the 3rd of November to give filmmakers more time.
The Festival will start with the Warsaw edition from 6th to 8th of November, which will be followed by editions in Vilnius, (4th of November), Lviv, (21st of November), Chicago, (28th of November), London, (12th of December) and Berlin (15th of December).
This year’s theme of EMIGRA is ‘closeness’. We would like to celebrate the connections between Poles living abroad and their country of origins.
This year’s EMiGRA will be unique, as are the times in which we live right now.
The notion of ‘closeness’ is of course represented on our poster.
The author of the poster, painter and graphic artist, Beata Walczak, used, as usual, the iconic photo taken by Mieczysław Adamek during his studies at the Łódź Film School in the 60s.
After taking into consideration current pandemic regulations 8th edition of EMiGRA will take place online so that it is safe and available to all the Poles scattered around the world.
Until the midnight of the 3rd of November 2020 you can send your submissions: films made by Poles living abroad and films about Poles living abroad regardless of the nationality of filmmakers.
Applications from both professionals and amateurs who would like to show their films at the 8th EMiGRA Film Festival are welcome. All kinds of films – documentaries, shorts, animations and feature films can be submitted to the competition without any time limits.
