Common Ground: Curated Connections - London Festival of Architecture
Rooted in the creative exchange of the UK/Poland Season’25, ‘Common
Ground: Curated Connections’ is back for its fourth edition, and brings
architecture, art and international collaboration together in celebration
of this year’s London Festival of Architecture theme; ‘Belonging’.
The theme aims to explore how objects, buildings and installations can be
powerful tools for fostering connection, participation and a sense of place
within the city.
The month-long immersive installation and public programme presents the
work of three Polish studios within the Fletcher Priest Architects studio
and garden situated within Fleet Street Quarter; Zieta Studio, Pani Jurek
and Katarzyna Krej.
The Installations
Throughout June, the Fletcher Priest studio and garden will house the works
of three studios at the forefront of Polish design.
Visible through glass from street level, the installation dissolves the
boundary between studio interior and public realm, occupying both the
interior gallery space and public garden. It’s curated by Anka Simone and
Joanna Caron-Delion of On&On Designs and designed by Miśka
Miller-Lovegrove and Roman Lovegrove of MML Studio. The three Polish
studios taking residency include:
Panel Discussion: Making Common Ground - 1st June, 6-8pm
To mark the unveiling of the installations, Fletcher Priest studio will be
hosting an intimate panel discussion on 1 June, asking: ‘How can objects,
buildings and installations create common ground in a city between
strangers?’
Moderated by Ellie Stathaki, Architecture and Environment Director at
Wallpaper*, the panel brings together Ed Williams, Managing Partner at
Fletcher Priest Architects, Oskar Zięta (Zieta Studio) and Michał Borecki
(Pani Jurek). The conversation will explore the impact of design in public
spaces, Polish craft and making, and the cross-cultural exchanges that have
shaped this collaboration.

‘‘Common Ground’ is exactly what we stand for. Art and architecture
in juxtaposition where people live and work. We have been part of this
community for years and welcome opening our new studio to continue this
important conversation’ says Ed Williams, Managing Partner, Fletcher
Priest Architects
"Curated Connections brings together some of the most compelling voices in
Polish design and places them in genuine dialogue with London, the city,
the streets and the community. We are delighted to launch chapter 4
‘Common Ground’ in this incredible setting at LFA26", say Anka Simone
and Joanna Caron-Delion, Founders, On&On Designs.
“Culture plays a vital role in shaping Fleet Street Quarter as a
destination not only for business, but for creativity, connection and
public life. ‘Common Ground’ perfectly captures our vision of bringing
world-class art, architecture and design into the everyday experience of
the city. We are especially delighted to welcome Oskar Zięta back to the
Quarter following the incredible response to Whispers on Ludgate Hill,
which has become a true landmark for the area”, says Lady Lucy French,
CEO, Fleet Street Quarter BID
