Festival line-up:
Łukasz Kuropaczewski - Guitar Recital
11 September | 7.00 pm | The Amadeus, Little Venice
A single guitar. A world of colour. An evening of music.
There is something magical about the classical guitar: an entire world of
colour, rhythm and emotion can emerge from a single instrument. In the
hands of Łukasz Kuropaczewski, one of Poland’s leading classical
guitarists, that magic takes many forms: from the sun-drenched passion of
Albéniz’s Asturias, through the distinctive Polish character of
Tansman’s Suite in Modo Polonico and Chopin’s Mazurkas, to the vivid
colours of Michał Górecki’s Sonata.
An intimate evening of music, virtuosity and the unique magic of the
classical guitar - in the atmospheric setting of The Amadeus in Little
Venice.

Piotr Sałajczyk - Piano Recital
12 September | 5.00 pm | The Duke’s Hall, Royal Academy of Music
Polish music in dialogue with Europe. Piotr Sałajczyk invites us on a
musical journey across borders, bringing together the distinctive voices of
Władysław Szpilman, Karol Szymanowski and Fryderyk Chopin with the music
of Johannes Brahms.
From the striking The Life of Machines by Szpilman and the sensual,
evocative world of Szymanowski’s Mazurkas and Scherazade, to Brahms’s
Rhapsodies and Chopin’s dazzling Andante spianato et Grande Polonaise
brillante, the programme reveals unexpected connections between Polish
music and the wider European musical tradition.
A recital about musical dialogue, shared influences and the richness of
European culture - performed by a pianist renowned for bringing both
celebrated and forgotten repertoire back into the spotlight.

proMODERN - shakespired
12 September | 7.00 pm | VOCES8 Centre
Four centuries apart. One thing remains unchanged: love.
Shakespeare wrote about love more than 400 years ago - its passion and
desire, longing and loss, joy and vulnerability. In shakespired, acclaimed
Polish vocal ensemble proMODERN brings these timeless emotions into the
sound world of contemporary music.
Fifteen works, specially commissioned from leading Polish composers, offer
fresh musical perspectives on Shakespeare’s Sonnets, revealing how little
our deepest emotions have changed across the centuries. The programme also
features a work by Philip Lawson of The King’s Singers.
A captivating journey through love, desire and the human heart - from
Shakespeare’s words to the voices of today.

standards with songs from her own repertoire. The first Polish artist to
record for the legendary Blue Note Records, Zaryan brings together the
