Theatre is Freedom | Teatr to Wolno\u015b\u0107\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>is a new outdoor theatre festival at Bell Square and part of the\u00a0UK\/Poland Season 2025<\/a><\/strong>.The festival runs from\u00a05 \u2013 21 September<\/strong>\u00a0and features six Polish companies presenting UK premieres of their work and with three companies performing in the UK for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Theatre is Freedom | Teatr to Wolno\u015b\u0107\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/a>opens on\u00a0Friday 5 September 2025<\/strong>\u00a0with the UK premiere of\u00a0Bal \u00a0(The Ball)<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0by\u00a0Teatr KTO<\/strong>, a performance in which dance tells more than words, its rhythm set by choreography moving from the swinging 1930s, through the passionate tangos of the 1950s to the present-day. It continues with\u00a0Teatr Osmego Dnia\u00a0<\/strong>performing the UK premiere of\u00a0Lost Dream<\/em><\/strong>, a striking celebration of stories by Franz Kafka and\u00a0Teatr Biuro Podr\u00f3\u017cy\u00a0<\/strong>performing the UK premiere of\u00a0Tempest\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(working title) in a vibrant re-telling of Shakespeare\u2019s classic play about magic, betrayal and love.<\/p>\n\n\n

These companies, established in the 1960s-1990s, have toured widely and have developed London audiences at Bell Square over the last 10 years. The festival will bring a significant focus to the world-class quality of their work and provide the opportunity for audiences to witness the extraordinary and spectacular range of their distinctive productions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teatr Migro <\/strong>performing DROM<\/em> <\/strong>,a rich and fast-moving history of the Roma peoples; Teatr HOM <\/strong>performing the UK premiere of Monsieur Charlie <\/em><\/strong>a charming celebration of Charlie Chaplin and the golden age of Silent Cinema and Konin Dance Theatre<\/strong>\u2019s poignant Sztetl<\/em>  <\/strong>which tells the story of the Jewish community in the city of Konin, just  before the Second World War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
