A prolific critic, he authored notable works including <em>Joseph Conrad: Betrayal and Identity<\/em> (1992), <em>Cross-Cultural Encounters in Conrad\u2019s Malay Fiction<\/em> (2000), <em>Conrad\u2019s Secrets<\/em> (2012), and the recently published <em>Joseph Conrad, Cosmopolitanism and Transnationalism<\/em> (2023), as well as a critical biography (<em>Joseph Conrad<\/em>, 2020).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Panel contributors include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Professor Agnieszka Adamowicz\u2011Po\u015bpiech<\/strong> (University of Silesia, Poland; President of the Joseph Conrad Society, Poland), author of <em>Adaptations of J.\u202fConrad\u2019s Life and Works in Contemporary Culture<\/em> (2022) and <em>The Resonance of Joseph Conrad in Contemporary Culture<\/em> (2023).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Professor Kaoru Yamamoto<\/strong> (University of Shiga Prefecture, Japan), author of <em>Rethinking Joseph Conrad\u2019s Concepts of Community: Strange Fraternity<\/em> (2017); translator of Conrad&#8217;s <em>The Rover<\/em> into Japanese (2022) and Robert Hampson\u2019s Conrad biography (2024); currently translating <em>Nostromo<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Jacek Dukaj<\/strong>, acclaimed Polish science fiction author whose works span novels, short stories, and essays, translated into 19 languages. Among his achievements: an Academy Award-nominated animated short adaptation of his novella <em>The Cathedral<\/em> (2003) and the Netflix adaptation of his novel <em>The Old Axolotl<\/em>.
