POSK Gallery, London will host a show of thrilling and surreal art from the epic and highly original audio-visual feast on\u00a0Velocity Press<\/a>. Take yourself on a psychedelic journey through Jem\u2019s unique and distinctive art in the form of prints, paintings and sculpture on a quest to find the truth about this tantalising icon, Kaptain Karnival: deity, Confucius or downright cheeky monkey?
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Artist and composer\u00a0Jem Panufnik<\/a>\u00a0is possibly best known as co-founder of internationally-renowned, pioneering dance music label\u00a0Finger Lickin\u2019 Records<\/a>\u00a0for which over a decade provided a springboard for his talents as a DJ and record producer as well as creating the distinctive sleeves and iconic branding.Since then Jem has further established himself as a distinguished visual artist, exhibiting solo shows in the US and UK. His inimitable and often surreal comic-funk style can be seen on everything from\u00a0record sleeves, t-shirts and tattoos to rock posters<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0beer labels<\/a>. As a musician and producer Jem has a huge repertoire of club hits and remixes under his various aliases including\u00a0Soul of Man<\/a>\u00a0and of course\u00a0Jem Stone<\/a>, as well as scoring for film, TV, immersive experiences and live events.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
