The lockdown might be almost over but you can see what they have been up to and what they are into.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Featuring : Kuba Wi\u0119cek, Dorota Mi\u015bkiewicz, Marek P\u0119dziwiatr from EABS and Jerzy M\u0105czy\u0144ski. Big thanks to all the artists for inviting us to their homes!<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/youtu.be\/3QqHnXjhGeg\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dorotamiskiewicz.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dorota Mi\u015bkiewicz<\/a><\/strong> is The Best Polish Jazz Singer 2019 according to the ranking of Jazz Forum magazine and one of the few to sing and record a duo with Cesaria Evora. Their song \u201cUm Pincelada\u201d was greeted with great reception from music lovers all over the world and was also included on the Polish edition of a Cesaria \u201eRogamar&#8221; album. This duet led to another one \u2013 with world-renowned pianist Stefano Bollani \u2013 released on the Italian album Capo Verde Terra d\u2019Amore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is also an author of fabolous all-star project PIANO.PL, performed with her by the greatest Polish pianists (Leszek Mo\u017cd\u017cer, Marcin Wasilewski among others) and the world-famous Atom String Quartet. The PIANO.PL live concert has been recognized in Poland as the most important jazz event of 2016 and the live album of the concert has been proclaimed the best jazz album of the year. Dorota has also performed with: Nigel Kennedy, David Murray, Louis Winsberg, Kepa Junkera, Tomasz Stanko and the whole range of the Polish music scene \u2013 not only jazz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year she started a collaboration with the famous, brazilian guitarist, the icon of latin jazz &#8211; Toninho Horta. Their joint album will be released in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/youtu.be\/0-hhd_DfROc\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kubawiecek.com\/en\/home-page-eng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kuba Wi\u0119cek<\/a><\/strong> is a saxophonist and composer. Despite his young age \u2013 one of the most recognizable jazz musicians in the country. Winner of, among others, Fryderyk and Mateusz Tr\u00f3jki for his phonographic debut entitled \u201cAnother Raindrop\u201d, which was the first debut in the cult series \u201cPolish Jazz\u201d for 28 years. A graduate of the Rytmisk Musik Conservatorium in Copenhagen. In addition to his trio, he performs with, among others, Kamil Piotrowicz, Piotr Orzechowski and Marcin Masecki. He currently lives in Warsaw, he studies at the Academy of Music in Krakow regularly giving concerts around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wi\u0119cek\u2019s second album \u2018Multitasking\u2019 released in 2019 in the Polish Jazz series received fantastic reviews and was described as playful and inventive. Kuba Wi\u0119cek Trio played a fantastic concert with material from the album as part of Polish Jazz London Series last September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/youtu.be\/tl1eH2p1trE\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Marek P\u0119dziwiatr<\/strong> is a pianist and composer from Wroc\u0142aw. He is a leader of sextet <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eabs.pl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>EABS<\/strong><\/a>, one of the most popular jazz acts in Poland, which we had a pleasure to host for the closing show of last year\u2019s Polish Jazz London Series. EABS\u2019 latest album \u2018Slavic Spirits\u2019 received high praise from both music critics and the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marek is also a member of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.eabs.pl\/\" target=\"_blank\">B\u0142oto<\/a> &#8211; a somewhat accidentally formed band made of 4 musicians from EABS. B\u0142oto made waves recently both in Poland and UK with their album \u2018Erozje\u2019 full of hip-hop rhythm and free improv, having been played by the likes of Gilles Peterson. Both EABS and B\u0142oto release their music on Astigmatic Records. From an early age, he was educated in in both jazz and classical music. A graduate of the Academy of Music in Wroc\u0142aw, he spent the last year of undergraduate studies in Denmark, at Syddansk Musik Konservatorium. In 2018 he began his master\u2019s studies at the prestigious Berklee College of Music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The founder of the band \u201cJerry &amp; The Pelican System\u201d \u2013 an alternative musical concept that is taking by storm not only Polish, but also the international scene of instrumental music. The band released their debut album in the prestigious Polish Jazz series last year. He is also a co-founder of one of the most recognizable experimental jazz bands of the younger generation, P.E. Quartet.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His latest project 'Jerzy M\u0105czy\u0144ski Jerry &amp; The Pelican System &#8211; Virtual Tour&#8217; is a response to the demand for a virtual cultural offer in the age of coronavirus pandemic. The lockdown might be almost over but you can see what they have been up to and what they are into.\u00a0\nFeaturing : Kuba Wi\u0119cek, Dorota Mi\u015bkiewicz, Marek P\u0119dziwiatr from EABS and Jerzy M\u0105czy\u0144ski. Big thanks to all the artists for inviting us to their homes!\nDorota Mi\u015bkiewicz is The Best Polish Jazz Singer 2019 according to the ranking of Jazz Forum magazine and one of the few to sing and record a duo with Cesaria Evora. Their song \u201cUm Pincelada\u201d was greeted with great reception from music lovers all over the world and was also included on the Polish edition of a Cesaria \u201eRogamar\" album. This duet led to another one \u2013 with world-renowned pianist Stefano Bollani \u2013 released on the Italian album Capo Verde Terra d\u2019Amore.\nShe is also an author of fabolous all-star project PIANO.PL, performed with her by the greatest Polish pianists (Leszek Mo\u017cd\u017cer, Marcin Wasilewski among others) and the world-famous Atom String Quartet. The PIANO.PL live concert has been recognized in Poland as the most important jazz event of 2016 and the live album of the concert has been proclaimed the best jazz album of the year. Dorota has also performed with: Nigel Kennedy, David Murray, Louis Winsberg, Kepa Junkera, Tomasz Stanko and the whole range of the Polish music scene \u2013 not only jazz.\nLast year she started a collaboration with the famous, brazilian guitarist, the icon of latin jazz - Toninho Horta. Their joint album will be released in 2021.\nKuba Wi\u0119cek is a saxophonist and composer. Despite his young age \u2013 one of the most recognizable jazz musicians in the country. Winner of, among others, Fryderyk and Mateusz Tr\u00f3jki for his phonographic debut entitled \u201cAnother Raindrop\u201d, which was the first debut in the cult series \u201cPolish Jazz\u201d for 28 years. A graduate of the Rytmisk Musik Conservatorium in Copenhagen. In addition to his trio, he performs with, among others, Kamil Piotrowicz, Piotr Orzechowski and Marcin Masecki. He currently lives in Warsaw, he studies at the Academy of Music in Krakow regularly giving concerts around the world.\nWi\u0119cek\u2019s second album \u2018Multitasking\u2019 released in 2019 in the Polish Jazz series received fantastic reviews and was described as playful and inventive. Kuba Wi\u0119cek Trio played a fantastic concert with material from the album as part of Polish Jazz London Series last September.\nMarek P\u0119dziwiatr is a pianist and composer from Wroc\u0142aw. He is a leader of sextet EABS, one of the most popular jazz acts in Poland, which we had a pleasure to host for the closing show of last year\u2019s Polish Jazz London Series. EABS\u2019 latest album \u2018Slavic Spirits\u2019 received high praise from both music critics and the audience.\nMarek is also a member of B\u0142oto - a somewhat accidentally formed band made of 4 musicians from EABS. B\u0142oto made waves recently both in Poland and UK with their album \u2018Erozje\u2019 full of hip-hop rhythm and free improv, having been played by the likes of Gilles Peterson. Both EABS and B\u0142oto release their music on Astigmatic Records. Marek is involved in other musical projects under the name Latarnik.\nJerzy M\u0105czy\u0144ski is a Polish saxophonist and composer. From an early age, he was educated in in both jazz and classical music. A graduate of the Academy of Music in Wroc\u0142aw, he spent the last year of undergraduate studies in Denmark, at Syddansk Musik Konservatorium. In 2018 he began his master\u2019s studies at the prestigious Berklee College of Music.\nThe founder of the band \u201cJerry &amp; The Pelican System\u201d \u2013 an alternative musical concept that is taking by storm not only Polish, but also the international scene of instrumental music. The band released their debut album in the prestigious Polish Jazz series last year. He is also a co-founder of one of the most recognizable experimental jazz bands of the younger generation, P.E. Quartet. \nHis latest project 'Jerzy M\u0105czy\u0144ski Jerry &amp; The Pelican System - Virtual Tour' is a response to the demand for a virtual cultural offer in the age of coronavirus pandemic.
