He won numerous literary awards, including The Neustadt International Prize for Literature (2004) and The Zhongkun International Poetry Prize (2014); the former is sometimes called \u2018a small Nobel Prize\u2019, the latter \u2013 \u2018China\u2019s Nobel Prize\u2019. For many years Zagajewski was considered the Polish candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His debut poem&nbsp;<em>Muzyka<\/em>, published in 1967 in the magazine&nbsp;<em>Zycie Literackie,&nbsp;<\/em>was a prelude to a long and prolific literary career.
