Born & raised in Poland,\u00a0Basia Bartz\u00a0has established herself as a prolific player on the London music scene since relocating to the UK fifteen years ago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a violinist, she has been a member of a myriad of bands and projects across genres, spanning folk, Americana, experimental, jazz, pop, and even dance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, a <\/strong>great number of singer-songwriters have called upon the violinist to help embellish their songs with her sensitive ear and versatile playing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by the musicians around her, as well as her own personal evolution, Basia began singing and composing original songs in 2019. Continuing her long love for folk, she began a collaboration with Ben Walker, who recorded and produced a number of violin-led folk songs, two of which have already been released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this intimate evening, Basia will take us on an eclectic journey leading through the many musical worlds she has so far created and inhabited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of Bartz’s guests for this evening will be Shem Fillmore, who\u00a0has played with various bands in a range of styles, but his main project now is his own exploration and reinvention of English traditional music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He plays violin, mandolin and tonight will dip into Hindustani classical influences with his sarangi, a bowed lute from south Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whilst guitarist and vocalist\u00a0Omar Rios Melendez\u00a0explores numerous acoustic and electric styles of music including flamenco, Arabian, Gypsy jazz, chillout, reggae, blues, bossa nova, Latin, rock and fusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
