This journey through the works of 10 iconic directors is designed to be an exciting entry point to&nbsp;one of Europe\u2019s most influential and diverse national cinemas.&nbsp;The introductory course looks at Poland&#8217;s canonical post-war filmmakers and established contemporary voices. As Polish films often require some guidance, the discussions will also examine wider socio-cultural background of the works in focus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Each week of the course will focus on one Polish director from the post-war era to the present, taking in a variety of genres and styles from both art-house and popular films. Clip-based discussions in class will also be an opportunity to explore a range of topics linked with the socio-cultural and political history of the country. Kieslowski&nbsp;has created singular cinematic experiences on both an aesthetic and intellectual level that have earned him his place among the great&nbsp;masters of modernEuropean cinema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The course is an introduction to the cinema of Krzysztof Kieslowski, from his 1960s Polish short documentaries to the acclaimed&nbsp;<em>Three Colours<\/em>&nbsp;trilogy produced in France.
