On April 10, the first screening of the Oscar-winning film „20 Days in Mariupol” in India was organised by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of India in collaboration with Alliance Fran\u00e7aise de Delhi and Polish Institute New Delhi. The event took place at the Alliance Fran\u00e7aise de Delhi auditorium.
In the introductory speech Ambassador of Ukraine to India Dr. Oleksandr Polishchuk recalled personal memories of the city and recited the poem \u201cWe will never ever be brothers\u201d which was written in 2014 by Anastasia Dmitruk.
The documentary by Mstyslav Chernov shows the events of the first tragic days of the war in Mariupol through the eyes of the only international reporters who chose to document the events after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine instead of evacuating.
„I wish I had never made this film, I wish to be able to exchange this to Russia never attacking Ukraine, never occupying our cities. I wish to give all the recognition to Russia not killing tens of thousands of my fellow citizens.” – such was Mr. Chernov`s speech receiving the Oscar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
