The Polish Institute in New Delhi, as part of its celebration of 55 years of teaching Polish language at the University of Delhi, invited Dr. Krzysztof Hoffmann, Director of the Centre for Affirmation of Literature at Adam Mickiewicz University, Pozna\u0144 with a series of lectures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The anniversary celebrations were preceded by a workshop of Polish court dances led by dancer Artur Przybylski in collaboration with the National School of Drama in Delhi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the main event of celebrating 55 years anniversary, the Head of Department Prof. Amitava Chakraborty, the former HODs, Prof. Ranjana Saxena, Prof. Neelakshi Suryanarayan, Ms Maria Wejs-Dom\u017calska, Counsellor-Minister and Head of the Consular section in the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi and Dr. Magdalena Filipczuk, the Acting Director of the Polish Institute New Delhi welcomed everyone and underlined the importance of learning Polish language. After the informative discussion, Dr. Krzysztof Hoffmann delivered another engaging lecture on „Poland Today. What to Listen to, Introduction to Polish Music\u201d, showcasing the different genres and sharing interesting facts about Polish music. The last part of the event included the screening of the film \u201cChitraanjali: Stefan Norblin in India\u201d by Ma\u0142gorzata Skiba, which tells the forgotten story of Polish artist, Stefan Norblin (1892-1952), who stayed in India during WWII and spent six years working for the royal families of Morvi, Ramgarh and Jodhpur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
