The 17th edition of the Conrad Festival started on the 20th and will run until the 26th October under the theme \u201cRadical Hope.\u201d It is the largest international literary event in Poland and one of the largest in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the festival, we especially invite you to the meeting „India writes: hope in many languages”: a conversation with Indian journalist Murtaza Ali Khan, which will be led by prof. Marzenna Czerniak-Dro\u017cd\u017cowicz and prof. Lidia Sudyka from the Jagiellonian University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

India is a land of many languages and many stories. Literary festivals like the Jaipur Literature Festival showcase how literature can be a space of meeting and sharing experiences. The guests will discuss how books and writers are responding to the most pressing challenges of contemporary life \u2014 from the fight for women\u2019s and minority rights to social issues, climate action, and local ecological movements. The panellists will also discuss which literary voices from India merit special attention in Europe today, as well as which Polish and European authors are attracting growing interest among readers in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
