The 31st edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), one of India\u2019s most prestigious cinematic events organized by the Government of West Bengal, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the Dhano Dhanyo Auditorium on 6th November. The inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished dignitaries, celebrated artists, and eminent personalities from the world of cinema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s festival will showcase over 215 films across 20 venues in Kolkata, running from November 6 to 13, 2025. In a special tribute, Poland has been selected as the Country of Focus, celebrating its remarkable contributions to global cinema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polish presence is strongly marked at this year\u2019s Kolkata International Film Festival, and with Poland proudly designated as the Country of Focus. The segment showcases a rich selection of contemporary Polish films, a retrospective dedicated to Wojciech Jerzy Has, screenings of Polish classics, animation, and documentaries \u2014 celebrating the depth and diversity of Polish cinema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The focus began today at 1 pm with the opening of the exhibition \u201cPolish Cinematography in Posters: The Art of Andrzej P\u0105gowski\u201d at Gaganendra Pradarshashala, featuring 20 artistic posters illustrating most of the Polish films presented at the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
