After 16 years, the Mazowszeis returning to North America. One of the
largest artistic groups of its kind, with a program inspired by Polish
folklore and tradition, Mazowsze will tour the United States and Canada
this Spring. The visit coincides with an invitation to take part in
celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the United
States Declaration of Independence and presents an exceptional opportunity
to experience Polish culture at the highest artistic level.
Mazowsze will tour with a new and expanded program, including Polish songs
and dances, masterful compositions by the Ensemble’s founder Tadeusz
Sygietyński, iconic works by choreographers such as Witold Zapała, Elwira
Kamińska, and Eugeniusz Papliński, as well as pieces by world-renowned
Polish composers; the ensemble’s strengths lie in its versatility,
artistic excellence, and impressive scale, with 150 performers joined by
guest soloists under the direction of Maestro Jacek Boniecki, presenting
Polish national and regional dances and works by Frédéric Chopin,
Stanisław Moniuszko, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Henryk Wieniawski, Karol
Szymanowski, and Wojciech Kilar, with choreography by Conrad Drzewiecki and
Zofia Czechlewska; the program will also include a surprise for audiences
across the Atlantic, and
Mazowsze warmly invites audiences throughout the United States and Canada,
including Polish diaspora communities, to share in this experience of
Polish culture.
