{"id":1367,"date":"2020-04-20T22:17:03","date_gmt":"2020-04-20T20:17:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/instytutpolski.pl\/newyork\/?p=1367"},"modified":"2020-04-21T21:34:45","modified_gmt":"2020-04-21T19:34:45","slug":"the-heart-of-europe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/instytutpolski.pl\/newyork\/2020\/04\/20\/the-heart-of-europe\/","title":{"rendered":"THE HEART OF EUROPE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The Polish Cultural Institute New York<br>presents<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>THE HEART OF EUROPE<\/em><br>Celebration of the 1050 anniversary of the Baptism of Poland<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saturday, October 29, 2016, &nbsp;5pm<br>Church of the Epiphany&nbsp;<br>239 East 21st Street, New York, NY 10010&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ilgiardinodamore.com\/about-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">Il Giardino d&#8217;Amore<\/a>, one of Poland&#8217;s most exciting Baroque orchestras, under the direction of Stefan Plewniak and the Soloist Vocal Quartet, will perform a free concert at the RC Church of the Epiphany.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded in 2011, Il Giardino d&#8217;Amore is an ensemble consisting of young musicians from various European countries specializing in historically informed performances of 17th and 18th century music. The group&#8217;s 2016 USA tour is dedicated to the celebration of the 1050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland. The ensemble will present two concert programs related to this celebration: The Heart of Europe, highlighting the works of Polish composers, and The Orient Express, featuring works of Vivaldi, Mielczewski, Fux, Klosemann, Ali Ufki.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The founder of the ensemble, Stefan Plewniak assembled his charismatic and passionate group to amaze its listeners with spectacular shows and fresh energy. He has gained muscial experience by working with many remarkable ensembles such as Jordi Savalls Le Concert des Nations and William Christie&#8217;s Les Art Florissants among others. Mr. Plewniak is a graduate of the Krakow Academy of Music. He has continued his studies at the Maastricht Conservatory in the Netherlands and the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Members of Il Giardino d&#8217;Amore are chamber musicians and soloists working with a range of Polish and international early music ensembles. Since its formation, the ensemble, has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Mozarteum in Salzburg and has participated in many prestigious early music festivals in Europe and North America, such as the New York Early Music Celebration, the Tartini Festival (Slovenia), the Bach Woche (Austria), the Oude Muziek Festival (Holland), and the Festival of Polish Music in Cracow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stefan Plewniak  &#8211; The group's 2016 USA tour is dedicated to the celebration of the 1050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland. The ensemble will present two concert programs related to this celebration: The Heart of Europe, highlighting the works of Polish composers, and The Orient Express, featuring works of Vivaldi, Mielczewski, Fux, Klosemann, Ali Ufki. \nThe founder of the ensemble, Stefan Plewniak assembled his charismatic and passionate group to amaze its listeners with spectacular shows and fresh energy. He has gained muscial experience by working with many remarkable ensembles such as Jordi Savalls Le Concert des Nations and William Christie's Les Art Florissants among others. Mr. Plewniak is a graduate of the Krakow Academy of Music. He has continued his studies at the Maastricht Conservatory in the Netherlands and the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris.\nMembers of Il Giardino d'Amore are chamber musicians and soloists working with a range of Polish and international early music ensembles.
