Unsound Dislocation: New York<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unsound returns to New York with a compact event as part of its DISLOCATION <\/strong>theme for 2016 and 2017. The program has been assembled with our longtime New York partners, including extensive showcases of broad range of contemporary dance music, from techno to various strains of more bass-oriented acts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2003, Unsound, an adventurous music festival in Poland, has brought a bold, international and uniquely modern program of music to Krakow and launched outpost events all over the world. This year marks the 5th edition of the festival in New York as well as of Unsound’s partnership with the Polish Cultural Institute New York. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival opens at the David Rubenstein Atrium on Thursday June 16, with Elysia Crampton presenting a work that is part theatre and part live music performance called Dissolution of The Sovereign: A Time Slide Into The Future<\/em> and Alessandro Cortini of Nine Inch Nails presenting his modular synth work Sonnos<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unsound will take over Good Room for two nights, collaborating with The Bunker on June 17 and Sustain Release on June 18. The space will be transformed by lighting artists Nitemind Creative and Tsunami Bass Sound System. Artists will include Cliff Lothar, Beau Wanzer, Erika,  
Timothy J. Fairplay & Scott Fraser, Further Reductions, Dami\u00e1n Romero, Nihal Ramchandani, Zenker Brothers, Jlin, DJ Richard, Via App, Greg Zifcak & FlucT, and Polish DJ and promoter OLIVIA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year’s Unsound Festival New York will close with an event at Trans Pecos on June 19. For the first time in New York, The Bunker, along with the Italian music festival Club To Club, will present a showcase dedicated to The Italian New Wave and promoting new Italian musical creativity. The showcase will feature a live set from Ninos Du Brasil, Vaghe Stelle’s US debut, Club to Club Soundsystem, and NYC’s own Greg Fox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before coming to New York, Unsound Dislocation will take place in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan May 20th-22nd, followed by events taking place in Batumi, Georgia May 27th-29th. In 2016 and 2017 eleven cities in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Central Asia and the Caucasus region will host mini festivals as part of Dislocation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
