Leading up to and beyond&nbsp;March 29, 2021, marking&nbsp;the <strong>one-year anniversary<\/strong> of Penderecki\u2019s death, Polish Cultural Institute New York&nbsp;\u2013 in partnership with the Ludwig van Beethoven Association, Crossover Media, DUX Records, Lincoln Center, Naxos of America, and Schott Music publishers \u2013 will celebrate&nbsp;Penderecki\u2019s&nbsp;life and legacy across an array of worldwide media outlets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Highlights include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/us\/podcast\/penderecki-in-memoriam\/id1557285313\">Penderecki in Memoriam Podcast<\/a><\/strong> with in-depth interviews with artists and close collaborators<\/li><li><strong>Live radio broadcasts and rebroadcasts<\/strong> of archived performances<\/li><li><strong>Live streamed concerts<\/strong>, and a broad presentation of the composer\u2019s prolific oeuvre. (Please scroll down for a chronological list of events.)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Polish Cultural Institute New York\u2019s head of music programming, <strong>Anna Perzanowska<\/strong>, who worked with Krzysztof Penderecki for over a decade, has been the driving force behind&nbsp;<em>Krzysztof Penderecki in Memoriam<\/em> since the composer\u2019s death on March 29, 2020, at his home in&nbsp;Krak\u00f3w, Poland. <em>&#8222;The passing of Professor Penderecki was a deeply moving loss and a shock to all who knew him personally as well as to those who admired his work. Photo by Janusz Marynowski.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Penderecki in Memoriam Podcast&nbsp;<\/strong>will present a comprehensive portrait of the composer with insightful commentary and memories from musicians, conductors, colleagues, composers, writers and historians including Barry Douglas, JoAnn Falletta, Larry Foster, Elliot Goldenthal, Jonny Greenwood, Michail Jurowski, Laura Kaminsky, Louis Langr\u00e9e, David Lynch, Cindy McTee, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Kent Nagano, Rafael Payare, Julian Rachlin, Norman Ryan, Leonard Slatkin, Krzysztof Urbanski and Antoni Wit, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Archival concerts from the Warsaw-based Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival, which was founded by El\u017cbieta Penderecka, will be made available for rebroadcast. The repertoire will include performances of&nbsp;<em>Polymorphia<\/em><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>performed by the Warsaw Philharmonic, and Adagietto from<em>&nbsp;Paradise Lost<\/em>&nbsp;performed by Sinfonia Varsovia, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Concerts from the 2021 25th Jubilee Anniversary of the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival,&nbsp;<em>Beethoven and Penderecki. The Sphere of Sacrum<\/em>, will be streamed live at&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/lincolncenter.org\/\">Lincoln Center<\/a><\/strong> throughout March 21-April 1, 2021.
