Imagine the Beatles and Velvet Underground reading Hannah Arendt while in the studio with film director Michael Haneke. That’s Trupa Trupa in a nutshell <\/em>– THE QUIETUS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

lovely, mysteriously ritualistic sounds <\/em>– UNCUT<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The acclaimed Polish quartet Trupa Trupa have released a new album B FLAT A<\/em>, their most epic and visceral statement to date. With it \u200b\u200bTrupa Trupa look to confront evil; exploring, in singer Grzegorz Kwiatkowski\u2019s words, \u201cthe wasteland of human nature where hatred and genocide are not just distant reverberations of Central European history but still resonate in contemporary reality.\u201d Musically, B FLAT A <\/em><\/strong>is where the provincial math rock, woozy psychedelia and heavy folk elements of the band finally coalesce in that most unfashionable of things, a sound that can fill a stadium. The band has always been able to shake the roots of any mountain in terms of making noise but their new record showcases a new, outward-looking sensibility. Today, along with the arrival of the album comes a new video for \u201cMoving (B FLAT)\u201d and is part one of two videos that will conclude the B FLAT A <\/em>visual cycle, initiated by the stroboscopic intensity of „Twitch<\/strong><\/a>” and continued by the looped visuals of „Uniforms<\/strong><\/a>” released earlier this month. Kwiatkowski notes \u201cThe album B FLAT A tells about the mechanism of decay and the end of this cycle is not just one, but two stories. The video for the song „Moving” has its two versions – B FLAT directed by Keesan Nam, refers to the story from the first two clips, and the version of FLAT A directed by Aleksander Makowski, acts as its reverse submerged in the subconscious and psychedelic.\u201d<\/em> FLAT A will be released soon.<\/p>\n\n\n

Created when the band had a US tour canceled due to COVID-19, the group was creating with what  Trupa Trupa vocalist Grzegorz Kwiatkowski, describes as a \u201cvisible paranoia\u201d<\/em>. He went on to add, \u201cCOVID affected us. So our dark stuff was in my opinion  even  darker  because  of  this  super  strange,  frightening  atmosphere  all  around  us  and  inside  of  us. \u201d<\/em>The innovative and explorative experience of B FLAT A<\/em>, is a product of the bands innate ability to document their ever-shifting perspective and circumstances. With off-kilter melodies, dense instrumentation, and haunting, barbed lyrical explorations, Trupa Trupa has managed to acutely reflect times that are often impossible to describe, resulting in some of the most compelling work to date. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band is set to embark on a North American tour this spring making stops in Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, LA and many more (full dates below). The tour is co-organized by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of The Republic of Poland. Presented in partnership with the Polish Cultural Institute New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
