(212) 288-8660<br><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ukrainianinstitute.org\/\"><strong>www.ukrainianinstitute.org<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NEW YORK, NY\u2014 The O\ufb03ce of the President of Ukraine, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation and the Ukrainian Institute of America announce \u201cRussian War Crimes,\u201d an exhibition documenting Russian war crimes committed in Ukraine, providing evidence of the horri\ufb01c reality of Russia\u2019s war against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRussian War Crimes\u201d begins with an expansive map of Ukraine, assembled in cooperation with the General Prosecutor of Ukraine, that indicates all independently veri\ufb01ed war crimes and victims registered to date. The exhibition continues with a series of documentary photographs taken from all regions of Ukraine since the start of Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022. They depict images of atrocities accompanied by individual accounts describing these crimes. While addressing only a fraction of known brutal and inhuman crimes, these photographs transform anonymous statistics into real identities, a\ufb00ording some victims a posthumous platform to have their silenced voices heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the center of the exhibition, a monumental video installation combines 4,683 veri\ufb01ed photographs as evidence of war crimes, created in cooperation with leading contemporary Ukrainian artist, Oleksii Say. While the images pulse on the screen, audio clips of Russian soldiers, boasting of their atrocities on intercepted telephone calls, are heard in the background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ultimately, \u201cRussian War Crimes\u201d demonstrates the systematic iniquities against civilians which have been central to Russia\u2019s assault on Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRussian War Crimes\u201d was \ufb01rst shown at the Russian War Crimes House, the former Russia House, in Davos during the World Economic Forum in May 2022. In June, it opened in NATO headquarters in Brussels, and also at the PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv, where it will remain until October 2022. It opened last week at the European Parliament in Brussels. This exhibit has been met with widespread recognition and acclaim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>___________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The destruction, civilian su\ufb00ering, the deadening silence that follows the detonation of bombs, the mass&nbsp;<\/em><em>killings in Bucha and other Ukrainian cities will leave no visitor indi\ufb00erent. These photographs are testimony to the sacrifice of Ukrainians, in the name of our collective freedom.<br><\/em>\u2013 Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>This [exhibition] is painful evidence of the war crimes committed in Ukraine and forms the evidentiary base, the reality, of this bloody war which is aimed at, not only denying Ukrainian statehood, not only&nbsp;<\/em><em>taking over Ukrainian lands, but to destroy Ukrainians as a people, as a nation. The more active and united we all are, the faster&nbsp;<\/em><em>Europe will achieve this result. While addressing only a fraction of known brutal and inhuman crimes, these photographs transform anonymous statistics into real identities, a\ufb00ording some victims a posthumous platform to have their silenced voices heard.\nAt the center of the exhibition, a monumental video installation combines 4,683 veri\ufb01ed photographs as evidence of war crimes, created in cooperation with leading contemporary Ukrainian artist, Oleksii Say. While the images pulse on the screen, audio clips of Russian soldiers, boasting of their atrocities on intercepted telephone calls, are heard in the background.\nUltimately, \u201cRussian War Crimes\u201d demonstrates the systematic iniquities against civilians which have been central to Russia\u2019s assault on Ukraine.\n\u201cRussian War Crimes\u201d was \ufb01rst shown at the Russian War Crimes House, the former Russia House, in Davos during the World Economic Forum in May 2022. In June, it opened in NATO headquarters in Brussels, and also at the PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv, where it will remain until October 2022. It opened last week at the European Parliament in Brussels. This exhibit has been met with widespread recognition and acclaim.\n___________\nThe destruction, civilian su\ufb00ering, the deadening silence that follows the detonation of bombs, the mass killings in Bucha and other Ukrainian cities will leave no visitor indi\ufb00erent.
