These shows are presented with the Polish Cultural Institute New York, also a longtime partner.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Thursday, December 1, a <strong>free show<\/strong> at <strong>The David Rubenstein Atrium<\/strong> includes the Unsound-initiated collaboration between Polish cellist and composer<strong> Resina <\/strong>and French sonic alchemist <strong>Aho Ssan<\/strong>. Their epic premiere show at Unsound Krak\u00f3w 2022 was a festival highlight. Opening is Polish experimental vocalist<strong> Antonina Nowacka<\/strong>, recently featured on a collaborative album with Sofie Birch released by Unsound and Mondoj, with Pitchfork writing that her voice is like a \u2018lone organism carving a languid path\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday, December 2, <strong>Alice Tully Hall<\/strong> will host the third iteration of <strong><em>Weavings<\/em><\/strong>, the group improvisation curated and conceived with Chilean artist Nicol\u00e1s Jaar. <em>Weaving<\/em>s began as an online Unsound performance during the pandemic, based on a visual score bringing together a collective of musicians from around the world weaving in and out of the piece. The result was turned into an acclaimed album, which you can listen to here. The second iteration of <em>Weavings<\/em> took place IRL at Unsound Krak\u00f3w in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the third live version of <em>Weavings<\/em> in New York, Jaar and Unsound will draw on a dozen players from experimental, jazz, electronic, improv and even dance scenes, an adventurous exploration of the power of music to unite. While the first two iterations of <em>Weavings<\/em> were focused more on beatless music, the third presentation involves rhythm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Artists include <strong>Nicol\u00e1s Jaar<\/strong> \u2013 who will perform and mix the show, Italian percussionist <strong>Valentina Magaletti<\/strong> of Vanishing Twin; Catalonian experimental singer-songwriter <strong>Marina Herlop<\/strong>; Norway-based South African saxophonist <strong>Linda Sikhakhane<\/strong>; New York experimental electronic musician and composer <strong>Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe<\/strong>; Polish experimental vocalist <strong>Antonina Nowacka<\/strong>; legendary New York based Brazilian drummer <strong>Cyro Baptista<\/strong>; New York tap dancer <strong>Dormeshia<\/strong>; Italian folk percussionist <strong>Luca Rossi<\/strong>; New York drummer <strong>Tlacael Esparza<\/strong>, creator of Sensory Percussion; <strong>Susie Ibarra<\/strong>, a<strong> <\/strong>Filipinx composer, percussionist, and sound artist; and<strong> Bint Mbareh<\/strong>, a Palestianian artist and sound researcher. Opening is Polish experimental vocalist Antonina Nowacka, recently featured on a collaborative album with Sofie Birch released by Unsound and Mondoj, with Pitchfork writing that her voice is like a \u2018lone organism carving a languid path\u2019.\nOn Friday, December 2, Alice Tully Hall will host the third iteration of Weavings, the group improvisation curated and conceived with Chilean artist Nicol\u00e1s Jaar. Weavings began as an online Unsound performance during the pandemic, based on a visual score bringing together a collective of musicians from around the world weaving in and out of the piece. The result was turned into an acclaimed album, which you can listen to here. The second iteration of Weavings took place IRL at Unsound Krak\u00f3w in 2021.\nFor the third live version of Weavings in New York, Jaar and Unsound will draw on a dozen players from experimental, jazz, electronic, improv and even dance scenes, an adventurous exploration of the power of music to unite. While the first two iterations of Weavings were focused more on beatless music, the third presentation involves rhythm.\nArtists include Nicol\u00e1s Jaar \u2013 who will perform and mix the show, Italian percussionist Valentina Magaletti of Vanishing Twin; Catalonian experimental singer-songwriter Marina Herlop; Norway-based South African saxophonist Linda Sikhakhane; New York experimental electronic musician and composer Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe; Polish experimental vocalist Antonina Nowacka; legendary New York based Brazilian drummer Cyro Baptista; New York tap dancer Dormeshia; Italian folk percussionist Luca Rossi; New York drummer Tlacael Esparza, creator of Sensory Percussion; Susie Ibarra, a Filipinx composer, percussionist, and sound artist; and Bint Mbareh, a Palestianian artist and sound researcher.
