The selections feature shorts exclusively for mature audiences.&nbsp;  \n        \n        \n           \n\t\t\n\t\t\n            <br><strong>Animated Spirits: European Animated Short Film Festival<\/strong> returns for its third year with animations from Europe presented by European National Cultural Institutes in New York City. The third edition brings the most interesting and groundbreaking works from 19 countries of the European Union to illustrate the spirit of experimentation and creativity and to explore the boundaries of animation with unique visuals.<br>Each night includes a panel discussion with masters of contemporary animation from both sides of the Atlantic.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Six films from Poland will be screened during this edition of the festival: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Black<\/em><\/strong>, 14 min, 2016, dir. by <strong>Tomasz Popakul<\/strong> &#8211; it is a story about a couple of astronauts trapped on an orbital space station while a nuclear war erupts unexpectedly on Earth. They loose contact with Earth and all they can do is watch nuclear explosions taking place on the surface of the Earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Ink Meets Blank<\/em><\/strong>, 5 min, 2016, dir. by<strong> Tymon Albrzykowski<\/strong> &#8211; the movie is a black and white, rythmic metamorphosis of abstract geometric forms. Its dramaturgy is built by pure form and evocative music. It has been fully executed without a camera, directly on to a 35mm film. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Foreign Body<\/em><\/strong>, 7 min, 2016, dir. by <strong> Marta Magnuska<\/strong> &#8211; a foreign body lives its own life. You&#8217;re not able to get rid of it, it&#8217;s always with you, you need it. Caress that odd part of yours, don&#8217;t try to shave its long tousled fur. This is a story about something that&#8217;s considered to be strange at first but turns out to be the dearest thing to us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Pussy<\/em><\/strong>, 8 min, 2016, dir. by <strong>Renata Gasiorowska<\/strong> &#8211; a young girl spends an evening alone at home. She decides to have a sweet solo pleasure session, but not everything goes according to the plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Impossible Figures and Other Stories II,<\/em><\/strong> 15 min, 2016, dir. by <strong>Marta Pajek<\/strong> &#8211; the protagonist of the film is a woman who trips and falls down, while rushing around the house. She gets up, only to discover, that her home has unusual features  it is built from paradoxes, filled with illusions and covered with patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>letters.EHO, 4&#8217;21<\/em><\/strong>, 2016, dir. by <strong>Aga Jarzab<\/strong>, <strong>Pin Park<\/strong> &#8211; visual composition of forms, colors, and shapes on celluloid strips. Each frame is inverted horizontally and becomes the graphic representation of one second of sound. The score was interpreted and executed by Pin Park (Maciek Polak and Maciek Baczyk).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Festival is curated by <strong>Anna Ida Orosz<\/strong>, animation historian, lecturer at Moholy-Nagy University of Arts and Design, co-founder and curator of Primanima Short Film Festival, Budapest and Holger Lang, animation artist, filmmaker, producer and teacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The festival is initiated by the Balassi Institute, Hungarian Cultural Center NY and organized and powered by the Balassi Institute, Hungarian Cultural Center NY; the Austrian Cultural Forum NY; Animation Nights New York and the Czech Center &#8211; Bohemian National Hall. The third edition brings the most interesting and groundbreaking works from 19 countries of the European Union to illustrate the spirit of experimentation and creativity and to explore the boundaries of animation with unique visuals.Each night includes a panel discussion with masters of contemporary animation from both sides of the Atlantic.  \nSix films from Poland will be screened during this edition of the festival: \nBlack, 14 min, 2016, dir. by Tomasz Popakul - it is a story about a couple of astronauts trapped on an orbital space station while a nuclear war erupts unexpectedly on Earth. They loose contact with Earth and all they can do is watch nuclear explosions taking place on the surface of the Earth.\nInk Meets Blank, 5 min, 2016, dir. by Tymon Albrzykowski - the movie is a black and white, rythmic metamorphosis of abstract geometric forms. Its dramaturgy is built by pure form and evocative music. It has been fully executed without a camera, directly on to a 35mm film. \nForeign Body, 7 min, 2016, dir. by  Marta Magnuska - a foreign body lives its own life. You're not able to get rid of it, it's always with you, you need it. Caress that odd part of yours, don't try to shave its long tousled fur. This is a story about something that's considered to be strange at first but turns out to be the dearest thing to us. \nPussy, 8 min, 2016, dir. by Renata Gasiorowska - a young girl spends an evening alone at home. She decides to have a sweet solo pleasure session, but not everything goes according to the plan.\nImpossible Figures and Other Stories II, 15 min, 2016, dir. by Marta Pajek - the protagonist of the film is a woman who trips and falls down, while rushing around the house. She gets up, only to discover, that her home has unusual features  it is built from paradoxes, filled with illusions and covered with patterns.\nletters.EHO, 4'21, 2016, dir. by Aga Jarzab, Pin Park - visual composition of forms, colors, and shapes on celluloid strips. Each frame is inverted horizontally and becomes the graphic representation of one second of sound.
