Aside from presenting the newest Polish productions, the festival will also honor the 20th anniversary of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.polishculture-nyc.org\/index.cfm?itemcategory=30817&amp;personDetailId=201\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Krzysztof Kieslowski<\/strong><\/a>&#8217;s death by presenting two of his masterpieces &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/polishculture-nyc.org\/index.cfm?itemId=844&amp;eventId=2544\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>Blind Chance<\/em><\/strong><\/a> and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/polishculture-nyc.org\/index.cfm?itemId=842&amp;eventId=2544\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>Double Life of Veronique<\/em><\/strong><\/a><br><br>The opening night will include screenings of <strong>Julia Kowalski<\/strong>&#8217;s feature debut <strong><em>Raging Rose<\/em><\/strong>, selected for 2015 Cannes festival&#8217;s ACID section and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.polishculture-nyc.org\/index.cfm?itemcategory=30817&amp;personDetailId=683\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Malgorzata Szumowska<\/strong><\/a>&#8217;s  <strong><em>Body<\/em><\/strong>, a winner of the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 2015 Berlinale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other films screened will include <strong><em>The Here After<\/em><\/strong>, by Sweden-born, Poland-trained <strong>Magnus Von Horn<\/strong>, a drama about the aftermath of a crime committed by a teen; <strong><em>11 minutes<\/em><\/strong>, a thriller by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.polishculture-nyc.org\/index.cfm?itemId=597&amp;eventId=1799\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Jerzy Skolimowski<\/strong><\/a> taking place in Warsaw over the course of 11 minutes, and <strong>Michal Szczerbic<\/strong>&#8217;s <strong><em>Righteous<\/em><\/strong>, the story of a six-year-old girl caught up in the mayhem of World War II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The festival will end with <strong>Kinga Debska<\/strong>&#8217;s dramatic comedy <strong><em>These Daughters of Mine<\/em><\/strong>, winner of the Audience Award at the Gdynia Film Festival and one of the biggest Polish blockbusters of 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The New York Polish Film Festival was founded in 2005 by <strong>Hanna Kosinska Hartowicz<\/strong>, who also serves as its director. Hartowicz worked on many feature films including the critically acclaimed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.polishculture-nyc.org\/?itemId=780&amp;eventId=2318\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Interrogation<\/em><\/a> by Ryszard Bugajski. This year&#8217;s festival will take place under the honorary patronage of Oscar-winning director, Andrzej Wajda and the European Film Academy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a Aside from presenting the newest Polish productions, the festival will also honor the 20th anniversary of Krzysztof Kieslowski's death by presenting two of his masterpieces - Blind Chance and Double Life of VeroniqueThe opening night will include screenings of Julia Kowalski's feature debut Raging Rose, selected for 2015 Cannes festival's ACID section and Malgorzata Szumowska's  Body, a winner of the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 2015 Berlinale.\nOther films screened will include The Here After, by Sweden-born, Poland-trained Magnus Von Horn, a drama about the aftermath of a crime committed by a teen; 11 minutes, a thriller by Jerzy Skolimowski taking place in Warsaw over the course of 11 minutes, and Michal Szczerbic's Righteous, the story of a six-year-old girl caught up in the mayhem of World War II.\nThe festival will end with Kinga Debska's dramatic comedy These Daughters of Mine, winner of the Audience Award at the Gdynia Film Festival and one of the biggest Polish blockbusters of 2015.\nThe New York Polish Film Festival was founded in 2005 by Hanna Kosinska Hartowicz, who also serves as its director. Hartowicz worked on many feature films including the critically acclaimed Interrogation by Ryszard Bugajski.
